For those who ever look at the schedule and think: "What the fuck and I going to write this week?" I have composed a short list of tropes we've grown accustomed to on The ACP: Things that have not yet reached their "this is boring" phase, and have worked very nicely in the past.
1. The English Paper -Discuss the movie/game/show/episode/whatever in contrast with others that are similar, noting common themes and elements. Explain why these themes work in this movie/game/show/episode/whatever.
2. The Overthinking It (named after a rival blog, taken from the submission guidelines) -Take a piece of the work that is out of place and ultimately inconsequential. -Make it look completely intentional, backing with hardcore evidence. -Expand, expand, expand. -Create conspiracy theory or humanizing vicarious emotional drive that forces this intentional oddity into existence.
3. The Suing the Work -If it's antifeminist, attack it. If characterization sucks, attack it. If the Will They Won't They is drawn out, attack it. -Explain why other shows get away with it, and why this one doesn't. -Explain what makes this trope good or bad, and what the show needs to do to step up.

wow, this is pretty good. We have our own tropes, sweet.
I think nostalgia might be incorporated into a trope, as well - at least half of what I've written has been revisiting why I appreciated certain shows as a child, and I know Chalkey and Jonah have had similar bents on a couple articles
