If the Melissa article is the one I'm thinking of, also seconded for similar reasons - good variety. This is rather unhelpful. XD

It seems like everyone wants Jonah's "Will They Won't They" article, but I actually like his article on The Office better, so that one gets my vote. I liked what Marten did with "Our Greatest Export". I know many people who don't like the show, and I'm honestly not a huge fan, but I think he took a very good look at it in the way most people just don't take the time to do. I liked Nathan's Caprica and second Battlestar Galactica articles the best. His Caprica one reads very well, but I think the Battlestar Galactica one is much more rigorous. Melissa's article on social Gaming trends seems her most universally appealing one.

if jonah's article on the office went in, my response to it would have to, as well

if jonah's article on the office went in, my response to it would have to, as well Even though these are both great articles, I would argue that this is a reason to avoid either of them. For variety's sake, I would prefer each person's article to be about something different. Also: I've asked permission of everyone on the staff, and with your blessing I think I'm going to have two articles instead of one. I think, for variety's sake, I should run "Donkey Kong Country Returns, and the Psychology Behind Fun Failure" and "The Rollercoaster of Emotions: How Sitcom Shows Can Repeat The Same Formula." But what do you guys think? Does my Henry IV the sitcom one? Logic being I use real quotes and research in the Sitcom one, but the Henry IV gives more variety. Finally, I'm going to say that we can all change our votes as many times as we want, but all votes will be final on June 30th. From there, I'm going to start working on making the eBook a reality. So if you want to argue your case and convince the others, now is the time!

...that being said, my vote is changed to:
Chalkey: Sitcom Forumulas and Donkey Kong Psychology Nathan: Scott Pilgrim Marten: Beast Wars Jonah: Will They/Won't They Justin: Games, not Avatars Gillian: When Child Prodigies Fail (Tenebaums) Melissa: Resident Feminism
In this way, we have all our niches met. We have all the genres covered at least once. We have both Nintendo and Microsoft, for the sake of gaming variety. Feminist critiques, and Jonah's best work. Huzzah!

I'm good with this list. Also, I think in a couple months, we'd have enough for a second release. If we actually go through this, it could be like a tri-annual compendium sort of thing

Okay, enough of me dragging my feet. I created a sub-board with each article reposted so we can workshop! Expect a message for further instructions.
